 | I was born in Winnipeg in 1946, was soon adopted by Alfred Norman and Gladys "Irene" (Hawkins) Lund who were married in London England during WW2. Irene was a British war bride, she met Norm when he was billeted in her parent's home in London. They were married 3 months later in the Hawkin's Methodist Church down the road. Mum came by boat and train on her own to Winnipeg where she was welcomed by Norm's family days after the war ended. Norm was kept in Germany for 6 months to assist in reconstruction of social services. I was adopted at 3 months in 1946: our first home was previously part of a prison for German prisoners. I have been engrossed in genealogy for about 15 years, during which I have visited my father's ancestral home and relatives in Sackville NB 3 times and Lund's in Maine near the NB border descended from the first known Lund in America, George Lund.
